ABOUT OUR TEAMS

The Birdville Golden Motion Dance Team was established in 1999 with the opening of Birdville High School under the direction of Mrs. Mindy Anstey. Golden Motion was later led by Mrs. Allie Hudak for 18 years before welcoming former Golden Motion Captain Ellen Ayers as Director in 2026.

The Birdville Dance Department expanded in 2010 with the addition of the JV Belles Dance Team, currently under the direction of Ms. Claire Anstey. In 2015, Birdville High School also introduced NXT LVL Hip-Hop Crew, a program unique to Birdville, which is also directed by Ms. Claire Anstey.

Today, the Birdville Dance Department is committed to building one of the premier high school dance programs in the Dallas–Fort Worth area through exceptional technical training, artistic excellence, and a culture of hard work. Golden Motion has earned numerous Overall Grand Champion and First Overall titles throughout its history while consistently setting a high standard for performance quality, versatility, and competitive success. Our dancers are challenged through rigorous training designed to prepare them for success both on and off the competition floor.

The JV Belles serve as one of the strongest developmental programs in the region, providing dancers with the technical foundation, performance experience, and leadership opportunities necessary for long-term success. By maintaining consistent expectations and progressive training across all levels, our department creates a unified program where dancers are equipped to grow each year and confidently transition into Golden Motion.

Together, Golden Motion, the JV Belles, and NXT LVL Hip-Hop Crew strive to foster excellence, integrity, teamwork, and a passion for dance while continuing to build upon Birdville's proud tradition of competitive success.
